Trellick Tower, with its extraordinary, dominating scale, looms menacingly across the skyline. Its powerful, hostile presence is both awe-inspiring and intimidating. The graffiti-covered walls at its base enhance the gritty, urban atmosphere, starkly contrasting the tower’s majestic architecture. This striking scene felt perfectly suited for charcoal's raw, expressive quality.
Hello artists and enthusiasts!
I’m excited to share my recent visit to London’s iconic Trellick Tower, a Brutalist gem that has profoundly inspired my latest series of charcoal drawings.
From Concrete to Charcoal
The emotional response elicited by Trellick Tower is beyond what words can describe. Standing beneath its immense structure, you can't help but feel a blend of fascination and unease. The feeling of awe and intimidation is something I strive to capture in my drawings, as it transcends verbal language. Where only visual language remains.

I’ve documented this journey in a short Instagram reel, showcasing the transition from the tower’s stark concrete to the finished artwork. What part of this transformation resonates with you the most? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Watch the reel [here] and let me know in the comments!
Also, look out for yet another giveaway of a print this week AND a new exciting print drop coming at the end of next week.
Thank you for your continued support.
Stuart
