SPAGHETTI JUNCTION

Just north of Birmingham city centre, Spaghetti Junction isn’t somewhere people usually spend much time. I’ve been going back for nearly thirty years, and it never loses its impact. It’s this dense tangle of flyovers and huge concrete pillars, harsh and unwelcoming, but also strangely captivating. The more I return through my work, the more familiar it becomes, and the more there is to see in its scale and structure.
